About Rizz Maker !
Origin of the Surname:
The Rizzinis were rich landowners, enfeoffed by the Bishop of Brescia.
Their possessions extended over a vast area of the Brescia and Mantova territories.
For Mantova, the Rizzini family was a new one, coming from Solferino and Castelgoffredo, where they became rich as customs officers.
Girolamo used many riches, accumulated by him, for the purchase of lands and goods, near the place called Guidizzolo, and a house in Mantova from the Custoza counts, where he settled.
He then prepared his own tomb within the church of San Gervasio on which he wanted to write "Hieronimus Riccinis pro se et heredibus novissima memorans, hisce in tenebris stravit lectulum suum donec excitatur a Domino. Anno Domini MDC LXX II".
In the second half of the 1600s the Rizzini family made an enormous leap: the marriage, celebrated on 11 June 1659, of Giorgio, son of Girolamo, with Caterina Ceresara, the last descendant of his house.
The kinship with the Ceresara increased the financial resources.

The Meaning of the Surname:
The surname Rizzini originates from "ericius", a Latin term meaning "hedgehog".
It was therefore a nickname that was attributed, from the Middle Ages onwards, to those with curly hair.
This characteristic was then often considered a bizarre phenomenon, associated with whims, as well as an angular character.
Surname Derivations:
The first traces of the Ricci surname are found in Liguria.
The oldest characters were originally from Val Bisagno and some of them moved to Albegna to return to Genova in the XV century and create the Albergo dei Gentile.
There are many well-known personalities with this name such as the television author Antonio Ricci, the editors Franco Maria Rizzi and Angelo Rizzoli, the soprano Katia Ricciarelli, the actor Renzo Ricci and the actress Elena Sofia Ricci, the architect Leonardo Ricci ecc.
